Secretary Report for September 4, 2006

Opening: The meeting was called to order by President Steve Baun at 7:00 pm.
Barb Taggart noted that the minutes of the August 1, 2006 meeting stated that she should be contacted regarding the purchase of wine glasses when in fact Al Peinhardt is the contact. Barb motioned that the minutes of the August 1, 2006 meeting should be accepted as amended and it was seconded by Joe Rausa. The Board approved.

Treasurer: Barb Taggart reported that the treasury is down some from last year. It was noted that this year the club purchased a new trailer, radios and fire extinguishers. Contact Barb if you would like a more detailed account. There was a motion by John Witmer to accept the treasurer’s report which was seconded by Henry McQueen. The Board approved.

Safety: Denny Gilbert reported that he has the insurance for the September 24 autocross and the paperwork has been submitted for the October 15 autocross. There was discussion regarding crowd control and spectator safety at the autocrosses. In order to reduce the club liability, Don Hollway presented a motion that the club hire a HERCO security person to work at each autocross from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. The motion was seconded by Denny Gilbert. The Board approved.
Denny also mentioned that he and Liz would like to host a concours again at their house on August 5, 2007 and have a barbeque at the event.

Membership: Rick Geiner reported that our membership stands at 397.

Newsletter Report/Website: Don Hollway will have articles on the August rally and Porsche’s introduction of the new Targa in the October issue. The deadline for articles and submissions is September 12.
Looking ahead at 2007 events, there is a planned tech session at Steve Limbert’s shop on February 17, with a snow date of February 24. Artistry in Motion is May 6, 2007, with Porsche as the featured marque.

Social: Al Peinhardt reported that he has forty plus reservations for the Crab Feast September 10. Set-up will begin at noon and help is needed. Al stated that everything is all set for the Holiday Party on December 16.
Jerry Trone mentioned that he is trying to move Porsches at Pimlico next year to the weekend of the Kentucky Derby, so as to not conflict with Artistry in Motion.

Tech: Jon Yetter was not in attendance but we should have a tech session October 28, featuring the Apple Motorsports GT3 Cup car at a location to be announced.

Autocross: Mark Bolt was not in attendance.
We have new radios which cost less than repairing the old ones.
There will be a novice driving school at the October 15 autocross. A classroom session will take place in the morning and the students will use the autocross course after the autocross is finished.

Driver Ed: Steve Baun stated that five or six CPA members will attend the NNJ Region Driver Education event at Watkins Glen, September 24-26.

Vice President: Henry McQueen mentioned that nominations for next years Board must be in by the October meeting. It was decided that ballots for this years election should be sent to the treasurer. Also, committee chairs need to submit budgets for 2007.

Mew Business: Kurt Stauffer presented the 2007 slate of candidates for the CPA-PCA Board and they are; President - Henry McQueen, Vice President - Eric Wahlberg, Secretary - Linda Horstick, Directors - Al Peinhardt, Jerry Trone, John Witmer, Justin Fried and Rick Geiner.

Next meeting: October 3, 2006 at the Lancaster Liederkranz, 6:30 pm for social (brats and beverages), meeting at 7:00pm. All members are welcome to attend.
