Secretary Report for August 1, 2006

Opening: President Steve Baun was unable to attend, Vice President Henry McQueen filled in.
I took notes because Eric Wahlberg is on vacation.
25 total attendees, 6 of which were new members.
Quorum was present.
Minutes from previous were approved.
Joe Rausa and Barb motioned.
Treasurer: Good standing but down slightly due to some swap expense, report was made available to those who requested it.
Rally: August rally is ready to go. Details are still available on the web site and in the Sprecher.
The event will finish at a restaurant for a nice meal.
Safety: Denny Gilbert reported that insurance for Rally is complete forms should arrive in the next few days.
Wash and Shine Concours tent has been obtained w/ refreshments. Members were reminded to bring lawn chairs. A collection of vintage motorcycles and Dennys home will also be on display..
Membership: Rick Geiner reported that info is not currently available from national, total count is down to 387
Newsletter Report/Website: Full load of material is in the works for a complete news letter. Deadline is set at 8/8/2006.
Social: Al is ooking for volunteers at the next meeting for the Crab Feast. RC car race will be held again with a larger course. Food has all been ordered. Wine Glasses from the holiday party are still available for 2.00 each, contact Barb. Al is also looking for prize ideas for the door prizes, please contact him with ideas.
Jerry also noted that the Pimlico Polo event was great. A number of members turned out to beautiful skies and a great match. Maryland Life magazine also covered the event and may feature some of the members with their vehicles in next months issue.
Tech: Jon Yetter reported that TPC has been unable to confirm a date for the fall tech session. If a decision is not made by Friday, an alternate event will be scheduled.
Autocross: 2 events are upcoming. The October event will include the last drivers Ed for the season. Members also agreed that a reunion match up between the Porsche and Corvette clubs is long overdue. The local Corvette club will be contacted to set up an upcoming event.
It was decided that the rechargeable radios are no longer going to be used. It was motioned by Barb and Henry that they be replaced with standard Motorola type units. A price point was set for 8 units which will be purchased by Barb.

Driver Ed: Steve Baun was not in attendance. Two fall events are still scheduled.
Swap Meet: Henry McQueen spoke for Steve Baun. Change in location for 07 swap- New lot will not be completed in time for the 07 event; swap will stay at 06 locations.
Vice President: Henry McQueen had no comments.
Calendar: Trailer organization date to be set.
New business:Slate for 2007 Officers: 2 positions are open for nomination for 2007.
