Secretary Report for July 6, 2004

Opening: President Rausa called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone. Introductions were made as we had 4 new members in attendance. With deep sympathy, President Joe announced the passing of longtime club member Bill Hapke on July 3, 2004 in Millersville. He asked that we all think of a way to recognize Bill for all his efforts to the club. Suggestions were made, but no formal decision was made. Hopefully, we will have some conclusion next meeting. Motion to accept the minutes of the June 8, 2004 meeting was made by Don Hollway and seconded by Jerry Reinhardt.

Treasurer: Henry McQueen—Balance now at $32,000 ($8,500 above last year). Discussion on whether to put some money in a cash reserve at this time. Henry will check out some options and report back. $400.00 was paid to an accountant for tax filing for our non-profit organization.
A laptop computer was purchased to be used for autocross events.

Membership: Curt Stauffer—382 members to date; hoping to reach 400 by year end.

Newsletter Report/Website: Don Hollway—Some advertisers have not paid their bills and will be dropped from the website. Everything else going well. Information about the 2005 Hershey PCA Parade should be in the Nov./Dec. Sprecher to promote registration in January 2005. More details will be in the Panorama magazine in November or December 2005.

Tech: Joe reported that a date is needed for the Penske event.

Autocross: Mark Bolt—Promote next 2 events with a postcard mailed to members; hoping for more people to attend; maybe invite Reisentoter Region. Check the website for details.

Swap Meet: Steve Baun —The Worker’s Party will be held at the Giant Center, Fri., Aug. 6, 2004. Invitations and details to be mailed to those who volunteered at the Swap Meet.

Vice President: Curt Stauffer—still inviting new members to attend Board meetings and events.
2005 Hershey PCA Parade is June 25—July 2, 2005.

Golf Outing: Jerry Reinhardt—Golf outing is set for Sat. Sept. 11, 2004. Other Business: President Joe wants to know if we want to apply for “Region of the Year” at the Parade next year?

Lots of pictures of events, activities from the club year go into a notebook with descriptions of each to be voted on by the Parade Committee. It will also be Central PA Club's 40th Anniversary Year. Need some volunteers.....
Crab Feast—Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004 @ Liederkranz picnic area, Salunga, PA.
Nominations—A position for Director is now available and must be filled by the next Board meeting. A motion was tabled stating such.
Holiday Dinner will be Fri., Dec. 17, 2004 -West Shore CC—Camp Hill, PA

Next meeting: Next meeting is Aug. 3, 2004 at Leiderkranz, 6:30pm for social, meeting at 7:00pm.
