Secretary Report for 01 July 2003 Andrew Slusar , Secretary
The meeting was called to order by the President at approximately 7:03PM.
It was determined that sufficient representation of the executive board was present for a quorum for voting on issues raised.
1. The June 2003 minutes were not available due to the absence of the Secretary.
2. The President, Lois Kriens, provided a recap of the Porsche Parade held in Tampa, Florida which was attended by her and her husband. The President acknowledged the efforts of the Newsletter Editor/Webmaster which made it possible for the region to be awarded The Most Entertaining Website by PCA.
3. The Treasurers report was presented by Henry McQueen. The Treasurer reported that the balance in the clubs account was slightly ahead of the same time last year. The Treasurer also reported the IRS had additional questions regarding the clubs non-profit status. The Treasurer is required to complete an eight page questionnaire and he feels confident there will not be any issues detrimental to the clubs non-profit status.
4. The Membership report was presented by Curt Stauffer. Membership information had not been received from National in time for this months meeting. The Membership Chairperson provided the latest available membership numbers to the Treasurer for the above noted IRS questionnaire . Al Peinhardt, Board of Directors, has volunteered his home for a new members party in October. The date of the new member party will be announced at a later date.
5. The Social Committee report was presented by Ed Kriens. A day of go-carting is planned for August 16th. The Crab Feast is scheduled for September 21st.
6. The Newsletter/Web report was presented by Don Hollway.
7. The Tech report was presented by Scott Hoaglund. The fall tech session for October 18th at Autohaus Lancaster has been confirmed. The Tech Chairperson also reported that Autohaus Lancaster has volunteered their facilities for monthly board meetings.
8. The Autocross report was presented Steve Baun.
9. The Drivers Ed report was presented by Steve Baun. The Drivers Ed Chairperson reported a good turnout for the annual driving school. Although it rained during the event all planned activities were carried out and several new people attended the event.
10. The Swap Meet report was presented by Steve Baun. A discussion was conducted on the needs and merits of hiring a management company to organize, operate and staff Swap Meets in the future. The discussion was prompted due to the lack of volunteers to assist in organizing and staffing the this years Swap Meet. Additional discussion and investigation into the possibility of hiring a management company will continue.
11. The Vice President report was presented by Joe Rausa.
12. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:00PM.
