Opening: President Henry McQueen called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. A round of introductions was shared. Linda Horstick determined that a quorum was present.

Minutes: Copies of the minutes were available for review in the newsletter. Barb Taggart motioned that the minutes of the May 1, 2007, meeting should be accepted and it was seconded by Steve Limbert. The Board approved.

Treasurer: Barb Taggart reported that the cash balance is strong due to an excellent swap meet and profitable autocrosses. Copies of the monthly treasurer’s report were shared and Eric Wahlberg motioned to approve the report. Don Hollway seconded the motion. The Board approved.

Membership: Rick Geiner reported that there were five new members, no transfers, thirty-three renewals, and eighteen nonrenewals. The current membership count is 399.

Website/Newsletter: Don asked for comments from those that attended Artistry in Motion for inclusion in the article for the newsletter. He will be unable to attend the June autocross and Rick Geiner volunteered to take pictures for the newsletter article.

Social: l Peinhardt reported that sandwiches and a relish tray were provided for the Hershey Hillclimb. Plans are being made for the Crab Fest on September 1. Al also stated that he gave etched wine glasses to the organizers of Artistry in Motion- Stadel and Rothermel. Jerry Trone reported that Porsches at Pimlico was attended by twenty-two individuals, with some participants from the Chesapeake region. One attendee, Ellen Beck, asked for club memorabilia to be donated to the PCA national museum. We will be forwarding a few of our labeled wine bottles and one of the original club patches. Deny Gilbert reported that forty individuals have signed up for the New York Lake Country wine tour.

Tech: Jon Yetter and John Witmer have contacted Stoner, who produces car care products, to present a session at the Crab Fest. A representative is tentatively planning to be at the event. John Witmer volunteered to be the substitute presenter if the Stoner representative would be unable to participate on September 1.

Safety: Deny Gilbert stated that all insurance certificates have been secured for events up to and including the July 14 wine tour.

Autocross: Deny Gilbert reported that there were fifty-three participants at the Swap Meet autocross and that forty-seven drivers attended the Mother’s Day autocross. Deny offered his thanks for the assistance he has been given with the events while he is dealing with some health issues. There was a discussion about raising the entrance fee to $35 for members and $40 for guests, and allowing four or five runs per driver. Beginning with the next event, times will be written on Post It Notes and handed to the drivers at the end of each run. Ken Taggart suggested that we could use more radios. Jim Horstick made a motion to allocate up to $100 for the purchase of two sets of radios. Barb Taggart seconded the motion. The Board approved. John Witmer commented that our fire extinguishers are larger than necessary. Paul Hess said that his employer might be interested in working out a deal for the big ones. Smaller models would then be purchased for our purposes.

Driver Education: Justin Fried brought the new, and very pleasing, Gary Wigglesworth Memorial Trophy for the fastest CPA member Porsche at the Swap Meet autocross. Name plates will be engraved with Mike Seminara (2006) and Joe Rausa (2007). Joe will keep the trophy until the next recipient is honored in 2008.

Justin also reported that the last driver ed event was fun for all. Another event has been added at Pocono on September 15-16.

Swap Meet: Steve Baun was absent. He sent a message that the contract for 2008 has been negotiated. The event will be held in the new lot. A map of the facility is not available yet. Vendor spaces will be raised to $40. Hershey is now requiring three million dollars insurance coverage for events held at their sites. Steve also reported that he is considering Ski Roundtop or The Coliseum as the venue for the swap workers’ party.

Vice-President: Eric participated in a Zone 2 conference call. The Pocono Porsche Escape could not be arranged. Instead, there will be events October 11-14 in the Washington DC area. Eric shared details of these events and more promotional information will be distributed and publicized through the newsletter and the website. The conference call also included discussions concerning autocross and driver education safety issues.

Eric wrote to Dale Hynicker’s wife asking if there was a charity to which we could make a donation in his memory. She suggested a gift to the American Institute for Cancer Research. Eric made a motion to contribute $100 in memory of Mr. Hynicker to this organization. Jerry Trone seconded the motion. The Board approved.

After discussion, Barb Taggart made a motion to donate $200 to the Four Diamonds Fund from the swap meet concours. Jerry Trone seconded the motion. The Board approved. The members present agreed that guidelines must be more defined if we are publicizing that proceeds are to benefit a charitable organization.

Calendar: Don Meluzio notified us that a concours will be held at York College. More information will be available later.

Old Business: None.

New Business: Prior to the June meeting, Henry had shared information with the board about the possibility of establishing an e-commerce site to sell clothing and other merchandise with our logo. He had been contacted by a representative of the site and has researched it extensively. After discussing the details, Al Peinhardt made a motion to establish the e-store. John Witmer seconded the motion. The Board approved. Jon Yetter volunteered to help get the site operational.

Next Meeting: Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at the Lancaster Liederkranz, 6:30 PM for social, meeting at 7:00 PM. All members are welcome to attend.
