Opening: President Eric Wahlberg called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. All that attended shared a round of introductions. Eric stated that he had information about Porsches to Oxford (Ohio). This event is planned for July 26. There are more details online. Eric announced the names of the individuals nominated for the 2009-2010 PCA Executive Committee. Linda Horstick determined that a quorum was present.

Minutes: The April meeting minutes were available in the newsletter. Steve Limbert made a motion to accept the minutes from the April 1, 2008, meeting. Deny Gilbert seconded the motion. The board approved.


Treasurer: Barb Taggart shared a written statement of the financial activities for the month. All is well!


Membership: Rick Geiner was unable to attend. Eric stated that our latest membership total is 381.


Website/Newsletter: Don Hollway shared the proposed contents of the upcoming newsletter. Material for the June newsletter should be forwarded to Don by Tuesday, May 13.


Social: Eric read correspondence from Bob Purgason, reminding everyone interested in the Virginia Getaway Tour to sign up soon. This event is planned for September 27-28, 2008. Space is limited.

Jerry Trone stated that the deadline to register for Porsches at Pimlico will be May 17. This event will be June 1. Steve Baun spoke about a polo event in Mechanicsburg scheduled for August 9 to benefit MS. Jerry said that he would be willing to organize a group for this event, if there is interest. Steve and Jerry will be in contact, and Don will be publicizing more information when it is available.

Al Peinhardt shared that the wine carafes and tire pressure gauges left from the holiday party were all sold at the club tent during the swap meet.

John Witmer has been working on the details for the 2008 Holiday Party.

Cars and Coffee, the informal monthly breakfast gathering, will be on May 10. All are invited to show up on the second Saturday of every month. Details are in the newsletter and on the website.


Tech: Jon Yetter was unable to attend the meeting and there was no report.


Safety: Paul Hess was unable to attend. He has applied for insurance coverage for upcoming events.


Autocross: Deny Gilbert said that 40 participated in the first autocross on April 27. John Witmer was awarded the Wigglesworth Trophy, which is presented to the CPA member with the fastest time at the Swap Autocross. There will only be minor changes to the course for May 11.


Driver Education: Max Crawford reported that the driver education event held at Sun Motors was quite a success. He also shared information about upcoming events, including those at the new NJ Motorsports Park. For more details, contact Max.


Swap Meet: Steve Baun announced that we had a very successful event. There was discussion about how we can make the event run even smoother next year. The Swap Worker's Party will be held on May 17 at the Coliseum in Mechanicsburg. There will be Porsche only parking.


Region Events Planning Manual: In progress.


VP Report: Dave Whitney shared his observations of the swap meet and of the swap autocross.


Calendar: Jerry Trone will be chairing the Gold Cup, which will be October 18, 2008. Potomac region is the host and may be adding a fall foliage tour on October 19, making this a two day event.

Eric said that the 356 East Coast Holiday (September, 2008) is sold out.

Steve Limbert announced that the Jefferson 500 will be May 1-3, 2009.

Registration for the Millbach Concours will end June 9. Don will be running another article about this event in the newsletter.


New Business: Eric stated that Jim Becker spoke of developing events sponsored by the entire zone, involving all regions that would like to participate.


Next Meeting: Tuesday June 3, 2008, at the Lancaster Liederkranz, 6:00 PM for social, and meeting at 7:00 PM. All members are welcome to attend these meetings.
