Secretary Report for March 7, 2006

Opening: The meeting was called to order by President Steve Baun at 7:05 pm. One new member was in attendance. Fred Young is from West Hempfield, and drives a 1995 911. Steve Baun told the members that the club sent flowers to Gary Wigglesworth’s funeral. Steve related how he first got to know Gary years ago and offered a toast in his remembrance. Don Hollway motioned and Barb Taggart seconded to approve the minutes from the February 7, 2006 Board meeting. The Board approved.
Eric Wahlberg presented a report on the Zone 2 Presidents Meeting which was held February 25, in Hagerstown, MD.

Treasurer: Barb Taggart reported that expenses are about on track with last year. Contact Barb if you would like a more detailed account.

Membership: Rick Geiner reported that we have a total of 399 members. Since the PCA National Office moved in late February there was no update received. Rick has called non-renewal members and found some have sold their Porsches and one was upset with how the Parade registration was handled. Discussion followed regarding the membership brochure Bob Perguson has been working on. A motion was made by John Witmer and seconded by Jerry Trone to get printing pricing for 1,000 pieces and we also will need plastic displays to hold the brochures. The motion passed unanimously.

Newsletter Report/Website: Don Hollway reported that the Swap Meet will be the focus of the next issue. He will also have an article recognizing Gary Wigglesworth’s passing.
The half page Swap Meet ad will appear in the March and April issues of Panorama.
The deadline for articles and submissions is March 14.

Social: The Social Committee has reserved December 16, at The Media Heights Country Club for this years holiday party. Jerry Trone is organizing Porsches at Pimlico to be held on May 7. There will be a cruise-in at the Soda Jerk in Hummelstown on Saturday night April 22, after the Swap for those attendees staying over.

Tech: Jon Yetter reported that Don Meluzio was very pleased with the turnout for the tech sessions to view his car collection. The tech session at Sun Motor Cars with CDOC is scheduled for March 18.

Autocross: Mark Bolt was not present. Barb Taggart is already receiving pre-registrations for the autocross series. Jon Yetter has researched the cost of new fire extinguishers. He will get pricing for five dry chemical units.

Driver Ed: Steve Baun reported that he already has eleven applications for Watkins Glen May 10 & 11.

Swap Meet: Steve Baun reported that there will be 50 commemorative Swap 30th anniversary Carrera 4S models for sale at the club tent. This is a high quality Minichamps model and the vendor has agreed to take back all unsold units. Volunteers from the Four Diamonds Fund will be soliciting donations at the Swap.

Vice President: Henry McQueen reported that the embroidery supplier has not yet had time to discuss making club apparel. Henry will talk with him soon. Plans for the club tent at the Hershey Hillclimb are still on track.Steve Baun reported that there will be 50 commemorative Swap 30th anniversary Carrera 4S models for sale at the club tent. New business: Denny Gilbert proposed holding a concours at his house in August. He will look into a date. Barb Taggart confirmed that we will have a rallye on August 13. There was discussion regarding the autocross trailer and equipment that is stored in Mark Bolt’s company warehouse. Al Peinhardt will research storage space availability and cost in the Hershey area.

Next meeting: April 4, 2006 at the Lancaster Liederkranz, 6:30 pm for social, meeting at 7:00pm.
