Opening: President Henry McQueen called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. No new members were present. Bill Umstead, representing the CVR Region of Connecticut, was welcomed as a guest. Henry shared a letter that he received from Sarah Kohler, who is Bill Hapke’s granddaughter. Penn Manor High School is hosting a car show on May 27, 2007, to benefit a seriously ill child. Her intent is to invite our members to participate. More information concerning this event is available from Henry.

Linda Horstick determined that a quorum was present.

Minutes: Barb Taggart made a motion that the minutes from the February 6, 2007, meeting should be accepted and it was seconded by Jerry Trone. The Board approved.

Treasurer: Barb Taggart reported that there is a positive cash flow. Money for the swap meet is being received. A motion to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Don Hollway and seconded by Steve Limbert. The Board approved.

Membership: Rick Geiner reported that our membership is 391, with four new members, no transfers, eleven renewals, and eleven non-renewals.

Newsletter/Website: Don Hollway stated that he would include an article about the tech session that was held at Steve Limbert’s shop. The deadline for the upcoming newsletter will be March 13. Several members expressed their concerns that the drop down menus on the website seem to be operating slowly. Don will adjust the speed.

Social: Henry reminded all that the registration deadlines for Artistry in Motion are approaching. There will be a club tent for gathering and a corral for Porsche only parking. He can be contacted for more details.

Al Peinhardt reported that there are still mugs and eleven dozen wine glasses available for anyone who is interested. The wine glasses will be sold at a cost of $5.00 a pair. Contact Al for pick-up and delivery details. He will be organizing the 2007 holiday party at Meadia Heights Country Club, However, this will be his last year as a social chairman.

Al will be ordering sandwiches for the club tent at this year’s Hershey Hillclimb.

Jerry Trone reported that plans for Porsches at Pimlico are made for June 3. The Chesapeake Region has expressed their interest in participating.

Steve Limbert offered to arrange special parking for our group at the Jefferson 500 (Summit Point), which is to be held May 18-20. He could also use help with tech inspection. Don Hollway will be speaking with him to get more details about this event.

Deny Gilbert shared the itinerary and other details about the NY Lake Country wine tour scheduled for July 14. Please email him if you would like to participate in this event because he will need a count so that final arrangements can be made. This is the same weekend as Zippo at Watkins Glen.

Henry shared some of the club strengthening practices published in the Region. One idea was to hold once a month breakfast cruises, possibly starting at a few locations and meeting at one venue to eat.

Tech: Jon Yetter was unable to attend. Approximately three dozen people attended the session at Steve’s Aircooled Racing shop. All agreed that it was an informative and enjoyable experience. Steve volunteered to host a similar event on a Sunday for those who were unable to participate.

Safety: Deny Gilbert stated that all is well in this area.

Autocross: Deny shared that the Riesentoter Region has been in contact with him with questions about our autocross program. They can no longer use their former autocross site and will likely be participating in our Mother’s Day and Finale events. There was still uncertainty about the time that we must vacate the Giant Center after our events. Steve Baun will be contacted for clarification on that point. Barb Taggart suggested that we contact our sponsors personally before we just present them with the rental bill. Barb will talk with Steve of Sun Motor Cars and Don Hollway will be in contact with Tom at Autohaus.

Driver Education: Justin Fried shared that approximately 60 people have inquired about driver education event details. There are about 20 people that have committed to attend the driver education event at The Gathering Place on March 17. More information about these events is posted on the website and in the newsletter. Justin can be contacted if you have any further questions.

Swap Meet: Steve Baun was unable to attend the meeting. Plans for this event are running smoothly. Members are asked to volunteer if you haven’t done so already. Don Hollway shared several possible designs for this year’s t-shirts. He suggested that we pre-sell the shirts through the website.

Vice President: Eric Wahlberg reported that he and Rick Geiner attended the very informative Zone 2 meeting with officers representing all of the member regions. Many great ideas to increase member participation were shared. new member meetings and once a month breakfast meetings were two of the ideas that other regions are using. The Pocono Region has planned the Porsche Escape for September 27-30 as an alternative event to the Porsche Parade, which is scheduled July 1-5, on the west coast. The 2008 Porsche Parade will be in Charlotte June 29-July 1.

There was in depth discussion of waivers and insurance issues for club affairs. PCA National is planning two raffles this year and is encouraging local clubs to promote them through their publications. There are plans for a museum at the PCA headquarters. A procedures manual for regions was shared. The continuation of printed newsletters is being strongly encouraged for every region. Next year’s zone meeting will be held in Virginia and will include a tour of the headquarters.

Eric also shared a survey with our members. The purpose of the survey will be to reach out to the entire membership to explore what events could be planned to involve more individuals. Don will be putting the survey on the website and having responses sent to Rick Geiner.

Eric stated that the hats for the swap meet are ordered. Barb asked to receive more information pertaining to prices charged at the swap meet so that she can insure accurate records. The admission will be $10 this year.

Old business: Through email in mid-February, the executive committee members approved $100 to advertise the swap meet in the Porsche Market Letter.

After a discussion concerning our account and its current status of not earning any income, Justin Fried made a motion to authorize Barb to establish an account with PAInvest. John Witmer seconded the motion. The Board approved.

Two additional copies of the Regional Procedures manual will be purchased for the treasurer and for the vice president.

There was a discussion about the possibility of planning more road rallies. Barb and Ken Taggart both expressed that there are many hours and miles involved to plan such activities for the limited number of people who attend. They both stated that our attendance at SCCA rallies is welcome.

Next Meeting: Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at the Lancaster Liederkranz, 6:30 PM for social, meeting at 7:00 PM. All members are welcome to attend.
