Opening: President Eric Wahlberg called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. All that attended shared a round of introductions. A few new members were present.

Eric said that he received the 2008 Regional Procedures Manual (RPM). He stated that it contains a great amount of good information, and felt that we should have a couple copies available. Jim Horstick made a motion to purchase additional copies of the RPM. Deny Gilbert seconded the motion. The board approved.

Linda Horstick determined that a quorum was present.

Minutes: The January minutes were available for examination in the current newsletter. Barb Taggart made a motion to accept the minutes from the January 8, 2008, meeting. Deny Gilbert seconded the motion. The board approved.

Treasurer: Barb Taggart shared a written statement of the financial activities. There was little activity in the past month. Swap vendor revenue is starting to be received. Steve Limbert motioned to accept the treasurer’s report. Deny Gilbert seconded the motion. The board approved.

Membership: Rick Geiner announced that our latest membership total is 382. He has been doing follow up on non-renewals

Newsletter/Website: Don Hollway stated that it is a slow news month and asked for any contributions or suggestions for articles. Material for the March newsletter should be forwarded to Don by Tuesday, February 12th.

Social: The date for this year’s Crab Feast conflicts with the 356 Registry East Coast Holiday. A new date for the Crab Feast will be determined. Eric shared the Virginia Getaway Tour proposal created by Bob and Joanie Purgason. A definite date has not been set. May 24, 2008, is being considered.

Al Peinhardt proposed a bus excursion to the NY Auto Show on Saturday, March 29. Cost will be roughly $35 per person, including transportation and admission to the show. Rick Geiner motioned to go ahead with the bus trip. Deny Gilbert seconded the motion. The board approved. Details and sign up will be published in der Porsche Sprecher.

December 13 has been reserved for the 2008 holiday party at the Antique Automobile Museum in Hershey. Barb Taggart expressed her concern that we had not reserved a caterer yet. She suggested contacting Events Catering, one of the companies that is approved for use at the museum. Barb made a motion that we enlist the services of Events Catering. Deny Gilbert seconded the motion. The board approved.

Tech: Jon Yetter was unable to attend the meeting.

Safety: Paul Hess was unable to attend the meeting. He had contacted Eric and relayed that the insurance coverage has been obtained for the up-coming tech session at Sun Motor Cars on March 8.

Autocross: Deny Gilbert is ready for the upcoming autocross season. Rick Geiner is ensuring that the equipment is ready too.

Driver Education: Max Crawford sent Don the schedules for this year’s driver education events. They will be in the newsletter and on the website. Max also shared information about the facilities at Thunderbolt Raceway in New Jersey, and those present discussed possible events that we could consider at a later time.

Swap Meet: Steve Baun was absent. He had given Eric an update on the preparations for the event, which Eric shared with us. Rick Geiner will be coordinating the volunteer staff this year.

Region Events Planning Manual: No new information at this time.

Vice President: Dave Whitney is working with Steve Baun to get hats and shirts for the swap meet.

New Business: Eric shared that the 356 Registry East Coast Holiday will be September 4-7, 2008, in Lancaster. He asked for volunteers to help with the event. Volunteers are especially needed on Saturday at the Grimes Airfield in Bethel, PA. Contact Eric if you can be available to help. 340 people and 160 cars have already registered to attend this event.

Deny announced that the Millbach Concours, formerly known as the Wash’n’Shine, will now be a trophied event. There will be an entry fee of $15 to help defray the cost of the trophies and engraving. This event is scheduled for Sunday, August 3, 2008.

Steve Limbert shared information about upcoming vintage racing events. These events need volunteers. If you are interested, contact Steve. More information will be published in the newsletter.

Next Meeting: Tuesday March 4, 2008, at the Lancaster Liederkranz, 6:00 PM for social, and meeting at 7:00 PM. All members are welcome to attend these meetings.
