Secretary Report for February 10, 2004
(Rescheduled from Feb. 3, 2004 due to Snow and Ice)
Deb Conn, Secretary

Opening: The monthly meeting of the Central Pennsylvania Porsche Club was called to order by President Joe Rausa at 7:04pm. A quorum was present. President Rausa welcomed everyone. He announced that Gary Wigglesworth, a longtime club member, was in serious condition in the hospital.

Treasurer: Henry McQueen reviewed the budget; Swap advertising and Club membership are up so that helps the budget somewhat. Discussion as to whether the financial statement should be on the website/Sprecher. Board members voted to post the statement in the Sprecher at the beginning of the year only. If more information is needed, members can contact the Treasurer. The 2004 budget was unanimously approved.

Membership: Curt Stauffer reported the membership count at a record high 350. Sun Motors, Autohaus Lancaster, and John Witmer will continue to encourage new memberships from their customers. A MEMBERSHIP CHAIRMAN IS NEEDED! A SOCIAL CHAIRMAN IS ALSO NEEDED!

Newsletter Report/Website: Don Hollway reported a new advertiser with a full page ad - Franklin Stevens Jewelers in York. Don will continue to search for better printing/mailing costs for the Sprecher.

Tech: Feb. Tech session was well attended. Scott Hoaglund is working on more events; Steve Baun and Tom Wanner gave him some suggestions for a wheel balancing demo and a motorsports speaker.

Autocross: Information for all events is listed in the Sprecher and on the website. Mark Bolt and Don Hollway will work on Òspecific registration guidelinesÓ (for March Bd. Mtg.) so there is no confusion prior to the events. Mark Bolt and Henry McQueen will work on a permanent annual number system for drivers.

Driver’s Ed: A Niagara Region Watkins Glen event is set for Memorial Day weekend. For details call Steve Baun.

Swap Meet: Working on Swap T-shirt design. More hotel info is coming in for the event but they are filling fast due to other events at Hershey that weekend. Hopefully, traffic flow is worked out if our volunteers show up. Having a mobile bank on premises the day of the event still needs to be finalized. Henry McQueen is checking with M & T Bank for an ATM but a land line for phones is needed. Don Hassenbein gave a brief overview of the planned 968 Celebration at the Swap.

Vice President: Curt Stauffer announced various volunteer opportunities for the 2005 Parade. If interested, call him.

Unfinished Business: Jerry Reinhardt suggested the Club have a golf outing in conjunction with John WitmerÕs group tentatively set for Sept. 17, 2004.
The Teen Driving Ed project was dropped due to club liability issues with teenage drivers who were not club family members.

New Business: President Rausa stated news from Manny Alban that the Central Zone is healthy and seems to have a growing trend.
A contractor is needed to build a ramp for the Parade Concours. Contact Joe or Manny.
Automotive events will be listed in our calendar as long as they do not conflict with our events.

Meeting Adjourned: At 8:39 PM

Respectfully Submitted,
Deb Conn, Secretary
