Secretary Report for November 7, 2006

Opening: The meeting was called to order by Vice President Henry McQueen at 7:00 pm.
New members attending were Scott Hiriak and his wife from the Pittsburgh area. Scott owns a 914 and is moving to the area to work for Steve Limbert. Peter Stillwell is from East Hempfield and hillclimbs a 911 and a 914-6.
Minutes: Barb Taggart motioned that the minutes of the October 3, 2006 meeting should be accepted and it was seconded by Deny Gilbert. The Board approved.
Treasurer: Barb Taggart reported that income is down this year and that proceeds from the Swap Meet only cover the web site and der Sprecher. Barb and Henry McQueen will be working on balanced budgets for 2007. A complete treasurerŐs report may be obtained from Barb.
Safety: Denny Gilbert reported that he and Liz will host a wash and shine concours at their farm the first weekend of August. Also, Denny solicited input on having a Finger Lakes wine tour in June or July
Membership: Rick Geiner reported that our membership is 386. He has been calling those who do not renew to remind them their membership has expired.
Newsletter Report/Website: Don Hollway will have articles in the December issue on the last autocross and the Tech Session at Sun Motor Cars. Information about the 2007 Swap Meet will be on the web site home page within a week. The deadline for articles and submissions is November 14.
Social: Al Peinhardt reported that everything is on track for the Holiday Party and we will again have the free wine bar. Incoming PCA President Prescott Kelly has accepted our invitation to attend the Holiday Party. Al again mentioned that registration for the party is open and may be made on line.
The 2007 Crab Feast is tentatively set for September 1, 2007.
Jerry Trone attended the International Gold Cup horse races in Virginia. PCNA was a major sponsor of this event and Potomac Region PCA is involved with the event. Jerry will be in contact with Potomac Region about having Central PA members attend these races next fall.
Tech: Jon Yetter reported that the Tech Session featuring the Apple Motorsports GT3 Cup car went very well with over thirty attendees. Jon received many favorable comments about the event. He is currently working on the February Tech Session with Steve Limbert.
Autocross: Mark Bolt reported that the October 15 autocross was a great event with forty cars entered. The trailers will be swapped out this winter, with the new trailer being designated for the Autocross Series. Henry mentioned that we need a new Autocross Chairman, since Mark has held the position since 1998 and could use a break.
Driver Ed: Steve Baun and Justin Fried were not in attendance.
Vice President: Henry McQueen reported that to date twenty ballots have been cast for new officers. Henry requested that any members wishing to submit nominations for the George Heide Member of the Year Award contact him.
Mew Business: Al will meet with the Lancaster Liederkranz Trustees regarding the proposed increase in meeting space costs.
Next meeting: December 5, 2006 at the Lancaster Liederkranz, 6:30 pm for social (brats and beverages), meeting at 7:00pm. All members are welcome to attend.
