Opening: President Henry McQueen called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. All that attended shared a round of introductions.

A review of the Zone President Teleconference was shared. PCA has concerns about activities that involve adult beverages, such as wine tours, and the liabilities that could be incurred. Such activities shall not be promoted by the organization. National will also not be supporting raffles that benefit regions or individual clubs to avoid a conflict of interest.

The PCA Code of Ethics and Conduct was distributed and Henry shared the principles of the four way test .

Linda Horstick determined that a quorum was present.

Minutes: Peter S made a motion to accept the minutes from the September 4, 2007, meeting. Ian Taggart seconded the motion and the board approved.

Treasurer: Barb Taggart shared a written statement of the financial activities. Justin Fried motioned to accept the report. Steve Limbert seconded the motion. The board approved.

Membership: Rick Geiner shared the monthly statistics. Our current total is 396 members.

Website/Newsletter: Don Hollway reported that he will be preparing articles about the autocross, the swap party, and the tech session. The holiday party announcement and the elections ballot will also be in this issue. Material for the November newsletter should be forwarded to Don by Tuesday, October 10.

Social: Al Peinhardt shared that preparations for the holiday party are on schedule. He reminded us that he will be vacating the social chair position as of the end of the year.

Al also stated that the Liederkranz wants all to be aware that having a beverage or sitting at the bar following our meetings is not permitted, except for members of their club. The Liederkranz will continue to offer the buffet on the first Tuesday of each month, coinciding with our meetings.

John Witmer and Steve Limbert have volunteered to research locations for the 2008 holiday party. December 13, 2008, was suggested as a possible date for the event, depending upon venue availability.

Tech: Jon Yetter reported that there have been a few sales at the web store. He suggested that we should be promoting the shopping site better to increase activity.

There has been a good response to the tech session at CBRD Speedfactory (York) on October 6, 2007. There are still a few appointments available for dyno runs. $20 from each run will be given to a charity.

Safety: Paul Hess has the insurance certificates for upcoming events. There are a few of the twenty pound fire extinguishers for sale at $50 each. Contact Paul if you are interested.

Autocross: Deny Gilbert shared that all is ready for the final autocross of the year on October 21. The fees will be $35/member and $40/non-member. There was a discussion about possible venues for additional autocross events

Driver Education: Justin Fried reviewed the upcoming dates at the Poconos and at the Glen. Check the newsletter or contact Justin for details.

Swap Meet: Steve Baun shared that he now has a map of the new venue. There are numerous islands in the lot and he has some concern about getting big rigs into the area. He is planning to begin organizational meetings in December to get ready for the event.

Region Events Planning Manual: John Witmer said that he has all of the guides, except for the swap meet plans. He and Steve Baun will be collaborating on it. Barb Taggart will also be adding notes to all of the manuals describing any related treasurer’s duties necessary to the event.

Nominations: Henry will accept nominations for the George Heide award. He and Eric Wahlberg will be reviewing the nominations and the winner will be announced at the holiday party. Jerry Trone suggested that a variety of awards would be nice. He is going to create a list of potential honors.

Vice-President: Eric Wahlberg contacted Bob Purgason about having name badges made for all of the members. Don will put an order form on the website. It was also suggested that new members could be given a their name badges.

Calendar: Steve Limbert shared that Rennsport will be in Daytona Nov. 1-4. He also said that the Jefferson 500 will be held at Summit Point in 2008.

Old Business: In September the nominating committee gave the following nominations: Directors- Jerry Trone, Steve Limbert, Rick Geiner, and Max Crawford; President- Eric Wahlberg; Vice-President- Dave Whitney; Treasurer- Barb Taggart; Secretary- Linds Horstick.

Nominations from the floor are as follows: Vice-President- Jerry Trone; Directors- Denis Gilbert, Al Peinhardt, John Witmer, and Ken Taggart. Max Crawford and John Witmer both requested that their names be removed from the roster of candidates.

In brief, a lengthy discussion and debate unfolded concerning the nominating process, the membership application process, and the voting rights of members, affiliates, and family members.

Next Meeting: Tuesday November 6th, 2007, at the Lancaster Liederkranz, 6:30 PM for social, and meeting at 7:00 PM. All members are welcome to attend these meetings.
