Secretary Report for January 6, 2004 Deb Conn , Secretary
Opening: The monthly meeting of the Central Pennsylvania Porsche Club was called to order by President Joe Rausa at 7:04pm. A quorum was present. President Rausa reminded everyone that we follow the Robert's Rules for procedures and Bill Hapke would try to keep us in line. Henry McQueen is our source for By-Law information. Introductions of those in attendance followed. The minutes of the December 2, 2003 meeting were approved.
Treasurer: Henry McQueen reviewed the budget that was sent to Board members and prepared by Pres. Rausa and Henry. The financial report will be put on the website. The Sprecher continues to be the most expensive item for the club. Discussion on club costsÉthe budget for 2004 will be voted upon at the Feb. 3, 2004 board meeting.
Membership: Curt Stauffer reported the membership count at 334, although National has us listed at 344. May be some duplicates on the mailing list. Curt will check out. MEMBERSHIP CHAIRMAN NEEDED.
Social : Ed Kriens noted the Holiday Party at the West Shore Country Club was attended by 73 members and guests. This seems to be less than previous years. Everyone enjoyed the evening. No date has been set for next year's event but should be done in order to insure a Sat. night. SOCIAL CHAIRMAN NEEDED.
Newsletter Report/ Website: Don Hollway reported that all advertisers will be sent a renewal form for the Sprecher. Rates will remain the same for 2004. Approximately 400 newsletters are mailed out monthly. Don will search other printing ideas; is there a member who would like to donate services as such?
Tech: Tech session Feb. 7th at Wellsville - details in Sprecher.
Autocross: Information for all events will be listed in the Sprecher and on the website.
Drivers Ed: No Report
Swap Meet: Traffic flow at Hershey site was discussed; meeting will be held with Hershey group on improvements. Date is Sat., April 24, 2004. Workers party mostly likely held in June-location TBA.
Vice President: Curt Stauffer is club contact person for the Parade 2005; if you are interested in helping, please notify him. Many volunteers needed.
Unfinished Business: Donations to PAI from Polo event - Total $500 from Club and $500 from Lancaster Autohaus. Entrant price will increase for next year 's event.
Jerry Reinhardt discussed prices, locations, and all features for a club golf outing. Board wondered how much interest there would be. Maybe piggyback with another organization who has already done such an event.
Next meeting Feb. 3, 2004 at Leiderkranz, Lancaster; 6:30pm for social and meeting at 7:00pm.
New Business: President Rausa announced he is filling out all the necessary forms needed for the year from National. Tax status of club - Tax Exempt.
Joe would like to establish a program with teens promoting safe driving; maybe with the PA State Police. Details still to be worked out.
