About the Swap
The Central PA Region of the Porsche Club of America is once again bringing its world-famous Porsche-Only Swap Meet to Hershey, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, April 21st, 2012. This is without exaggeration the largest event of its kind on the planet. It typically brings nearly 650 vendors, around 1,000 Porsches, and over 6,000 visitors together in Hershey every year. (In 2003 the long-distance award went to a 968 driver from Albuquerque, NM. In 2009, we had visitors from England, Italy, Germany and Switzerland.)
If you’re seeking an obscure Porsche or an obscure part for your Porsche, this is your best chance to find it.
Every dealer and Porsche packrat in a 250-mile radius will be bringing their odds and ends for sale or swap. You’ll see exotic Porsches found nowhere this side of Stuttgart, and Porsche personalities ranging from PCA muckety-mucks to (sometimes) celebrities like Jerry Seinfeld. We’ll once again be featuring a People’s Choice Concours, too!

People’s Choice Concours
This charity event is designed as a People’s Choice. Voting ballots for Swap attendees will be available at the “People’s Choice” headquarters at the head of the Concours parking area. The ballot instructs voters to select their favorite participating Porsche, in each of seven Award Categories, from those vehicles registering for the event. All Porsches driven to the Swap and parked in the Concours parking area are eligible for this event.
Each participating vehicle will be assigned an ID# and corresponding colored placard when registering. The ID placard is to be placed on the windshield. Voters will enter the ID#s on their ballot, sign and return the ballot to the registration table. Trophies will be presented to the vehicles receiving the 1st, 2nd and 3rd most votes in each Award Category. A People’s Choice trophy will be awarded to the vehicle receiving the most votes overall. In the case of a tie, the vehicle with the oldest VIN receives the award. In addition to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards, we will also recognize the Porsche travelling the furthest distance to participate in the Concours. Voting begins at 10:00, ends at noon and trophies to be presented at 1pm. A $10.00 entry fee is to be paid when registering. These fees will be donated to a local charity.

Porsche Caravans
Porsche Groups: Let us reserve your parking! You say your Porsche model is the coolest ever made? You've gone so far as to find a whole bunch of other owners of the same model? And now you all run together like wolves in a pack? You’re our kind of Porscher!
It doesn’t matter if your group is based on a Porsche model, a PCA Region, a bunch of friends, or however you define it. Just let us know you’re coming and how many are in your group. We'll arrange a parking area just for you and your party! (Minimum 10 cars, please.)
The 968 Club typically brings 30 or so cars alone! Are you air-cooled guys gonna let a bunch of water-pumpers dominate the Swap?

Souvenir Shirts
Once again we’re offering two variations of Souvenir Swap Shirts. Both trace the evolution of the beloved Porsche 911, from its first inception as the 901 to the latest incarnation, the 991. (Click the image for an enlarged view.) We used a similar design a few years ago which proved very popular. Choose from gray or black, or buy both!
Shirts are Gildan G200 6.1 OZ. Ultra Cotton. 100% Pre-shrunk cotton, double needle stitching throughout. We do not order large quantities of these shirts and they invariably sell out early at the event. Pre-ordering is now closed. Make sure you get to the Club tent early to get yours!

Volunteer info
Work the Swap, Enjoy the Party
Once again it’s that time of year when the club needs the use of your body and brains. Volunteers are needed throughout the day in four-hour shifts. For more information, contact Rick Geiner at rick911@embarqmail.com.

• Friday: 1:00pm-6:pm (four people) |
As you can see, the swap meet continues to grow and with that changes are required to accommodate the increase in attendance. With this growth the need for volunteers is critical. Plus, working the Swap gets you automatic admission to our yearly Swap Workers Party. Enjoy a night of pizza, beer fun and games in thanks for your hard efforts in helping out the club. If you’re available to help, please e-mail Rick Geiner at rick911@embarqmail.com.
